Most of my work is oil on canvas, and include a wide range of subjects from landscapes to figure painting
My Background
I graduated with honors from the University of Illinois with a bachelor of fine arts, and moved to San Francisco where I continued by art studies at the DeYoung Museum and the College of Marin. My oil paintings have been accepted in a number of juried exhibitions, and have been purchased by a number of private collectors and businesses. I am an active member of the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). My works were included in the publication Bay Area Artist – 2016..
My Inspiration
Applying oil paint to canvas is exhilarating and exciting. Solving the problems of composing light and dark patterns, and lines as they move through a piece is stimulating. Balancing a strong color in juxtaposition to an opposing color can make a piece vibrant and exciting, or, calming and peaceful. My still lifes, landscapes and figure paintings, are all about solving a puzzle. I keep changing the elements until I solve that puzzle.
